Deep impact
It is a mediator of communication and it makes the invisible visible. The display of a computer and the resolution it offers are of great significance for people who work at computers everyday. And there are very concrete reasons for this, because while the eyes can move around freely when looking “normally”, they have to adapt to different levels of brightness and distance when working at a computer. The design of the new iMac integrates its display following a new approach, and with its enclosure made entirely of aluminium communicates a new understatement of computer design in the 21st century. With its clear language of form the current iMac is a highly logical and consistent formal expression of the significance that computers have in the everyday lives of people today. Its 21.5” and 27” displays in a new edge-to-edge glass design look elegant and of high value – the design focuses entirely on the visual appearance. An exciting and user-friendly aspect is the high resolution and the technology used for this LED-backlit widescreen display. Based on an innovative IPS technology, it delivers a sharp, bright image. For working with computers on a daily basis it is furthermore of importance that it features a wide viewing angle; colours and content are clearly visible even from a viewing angle of up to 178 degrees. These new visual experiences are linked in this new iMac with the comfort and the speed of a Intel Core 2 Duo or quad-core processor – thus designed, the current iMac is an expression of a highly sophisticated evolutionary design that has defined it as an adequate and trend-setting tool of the trade for our digital era.
