With an eagle’s eye
“To photograph is to hold one’s breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It’s at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy…” This is how photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson described his work; he had a keen sense of capturing both the right moment and atmospheres to highly fascinating effect and his black and white pictures are famous around the world. A good photograph requires time and patience, as well as good equipment that supports the photographer in every aspect of his endeavour. The Alta Pro tripod is such a piece of equipment, merging an innovative language of form with sophisticatedly designed functionality to create a reliable work partner. The design concept focuses on the central column of the tripod, allowing users to adjust it as needed in angles ranging from zero to 130 degrees in variable vertical and horizontal positions, and at any rotational angle. The tripod can thus be adapted fast and flexibly to almost any shooting angle, while its “Instant Swivel Stop-n-Lock” system feature allows photographers to quickly reposition the central column in one simple movement. Another important aspect in the design of this tripod is its stability: it is made of light carbon fibre and aluminium alloy, yet provides high stability. Inspiration for the robust and upmarket design vocabulary of this tripod was found in the beak of an eagle, among other things. Combining versatility and lightness, the design aims to match the idea of the eagle’s swift yet precise movement – to facilitate shooting photographs that reveal new angles to the viewer.
